About the Reports and Dashboards Module

    ABOUT THE REPORTS AND DASHBOARDS MODULE

    The Reports and Dashboards module allows users to generate tabular data and statistical graphics based on Entities within a portal. With the Reports module, users can create readable and accessible data for tracking and sharing.

    Reports

    Reports are customizable data tables. Reports use the records of Magentrix or Salesforce Entities as source data to build tables. Users can configure the fields of an Entity that they want to be viewable within a Report. These fields can be further customized with Report Groups which arrange how fields appear and Report Filters which specify the range of values retrieved.

    Reports are similar in functionality to List Views, but Reports differ from List Views in several ways:

    • List Views can only display fields from a single Entity. Reports also offer cross-Entity functionality; Reports can display information from all Entities related through Lookup fields.
    • List Views can only filter records. Reports can filter records and also group them with Report Groups.
    • Reports can be used to create Dashboards.

    Dashboards

    Dashboards are customizable interfaces containing statistical graphics. Dashboards use Reports as a source to build various graphical representations of data. Any object that can be added to a Dashboard is a Component. Components can be charts, maps, tables, or Active Pages.
