Creating Anchors In A Post

    CREATING ANCHORS IN A POST

    Within the content of Posts, editors can create anchors for directing end users to specific sections of the content. For example, in the case of a particularly long post, the editor can have an Overview list of topics at the beginning of the post and each topic is configured as a link to that section in the content.

    Requirements

    To create anchors, users must be assigned one of the following permissions:

    • Administrator System Role
    • Article Type Publish Access
    • Article Type Contribute Access

    TO CREATE ANCHORS:

    1. Navigate to the article for which you want to add anchors and click Edit.
    2. In the Editor, find the location in the content you wish to create an anchor leading to.
    3. Highlight the desired text, and in the toolbar click the Link button (appears as a chain link image).
    4. In the popup dialog that appears, enter the following settings:
      1. In the Advanced tab, enter a unique ID and Name for your anchor tag.
      2. In the Link Info tab, enter # into the URL field and click Ok to close the dialog.

     

    TO CREATE A LINK TO AN ANCHOR:

    1. In the Editor, find the text you wish to set as a link to an existing anchor.
    2. Highlight the desired text, and in the toolbar click the Link button (appears as a chain link image).
    3. In the popup dialog that appears, enter the following settings:
      1. In the Link Info tab, select Link to anchor in the text for the Link Type.
      2. Select the desired anchor by either Anchor Name or Element ID and click Ok to close the dialog.
    4. Save the article to save your changes and Publish when ready to publish or update the published article.
