You can use external authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and the Articulate suite programs to create course content for Learning Management System (LMS) courses. Importing course content into the LMS requires xAPI (Tin Can) files contained within a zip file.
As a guideline, it is recommended that publishing formats are in HTML5 for optimized course playback. In addition, resume point bookmarks can be added for Resume on Playback capabilities.
For lessons to be completed in the LMS system, completion criteria and tracking must be properly configured. Please note that quiz information is tracked but cannot be used as a completion criterion. Here are steps to export your course content from Adobe and Articulate suites with optimized course completion and tracking settings.
Adobe Captivate:
- In an open project, navigate to Edit > Preferences.
- In the resulting menu, navigate to Quiz > Reporting.
- Check Enable reporting for this project, then in the LMS dropdown, select Other Standard LMSs.
- In the Standard dropdown, select xAPI.
- Under Status Representation, select Incomplete ---> Passed/Failed.
- Under Success/Completion Criteria, select User Access.
- Click OK.
- Navigate to File > Publish.
- Configure your publishing options and ensure Zip Files is checked.
- Click Publish.
Using Articulate:
- In an open project, navigate to the Home tab and click Publish.
- Select the LMS tab and configure the publish settings.
- Under the LMS dropdown, select Tin Can API.
- Click the Reporting and Tracking button.

Follow these steps to import course content into the Magentrix LMS module.
