How-To: Changing The Tab Order On A Page Layout

    It is possible to set the tab order on fields in such a way that as users press the "tab" key, the field selection is moved to the next field. For example, you may wish to edit the tab order for the fields in your Account entity.

    Changing the Page Layout Tab Order:

    Note: If the entity you wish to modify is from Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics, open the entity via Setup Home page; Extend > Salesforce or Extend > Dynamics CRM.

    1. Navigate to Setup Home page; Create > Entities then select the Entity for which you wish to change the tab order.

    2. Click on the Page Layouts tab then select the layout you wish to edit. This is usually the Default layout but could be another layout if you have configured a custom one to be used instead.
     


     

    3. Hover your mouse over the header of the section you wish to edit, and click the ‘wrench’ icon in the right corner.
     

     

    4. In the resulting pop-up window, click the Tab Order picklist and select your desired option. Then click Ok and Save the layout to apply your changes.
