How-To: Modify Visible Fields In An Entity For A Specific Security Role

You can configure the fields that are visible within an entity based on the Security Role a user has been assigned. As an example, you may want to reduce the visible fields in your Salesforce entity called Account to show only limited items for the ‘Portal User’ group.

Note: In this example, we are using a Salesforce entity, but you can also do this with Magentrix-native entities via Setup Home page, Create > Entities, the instructions from there are the same.

    Modifying Visible Entity Fields:

    1. Navigate to Setup Home page, then go to Extend > Salesforce, and click the desired entity to open it. Under the More Actions dropdown, click Field Security.

    2. Select the Role you want to edit the visible fields for, in this example ‘Portal User’. Check or uncheck ‘Read’ for which fields to be visible as desired.
