The Magentrix Spring 2015 Release introduced the Reports and Dashboards module to all Magentrix portals. All modules added to the Magentrix platform are disabled by default to prevent any unwanted system access.
To get you started with new modules like Reports and Dashboards, review the following Frequently Asked Questions:
What security role permissions do I need to enable a module?
For users to access a module, their assigned security role must at least have Read permissions on the Magentrix Entities the module relies on. Create, Edit, and Delete permissions can also be granted depending on the access administrators want to grant.
In the Magentrix Documentation, the Entity permissions required to use a module can be found in the module's section and pages. For example, viewing objects within the Reports and Dashboards module requires permissions on three basic Magentrix Entities: Report (system), Dashboard (system), and Folder (system). Additionally, users must have the appropriate permissions for the Magentrix Entities or Salesforce Objects they wish to use as source data for Reports and Dashboards.
For help with security role configuration, see Configuring Security Role Permissions.
I have the correct security role permissions, but I can't see the module in my menu. Where is the Tab to access the module?
As with all aspects of the Magentrix platform, users access a portal through Tabs (individual pages of the portal) and Apps (a set of Tabs available to users as their main navigation menu). Modules must be added to a security role's App(s) as a Tab before it will appear in their navigation menu. This can be done through the security role configuration page.
Administrators automatically have access to all Apps and Entities, but Tabs may need to be configured through the Tabs Assignment page since the Administrator System Role cannot be modified through the security role configuration page.
For help with module setup, see Setting Up Modules.
When I have to choose a Report type, I don't have any options. Why can't I create a Report for any Magentrix Entities/Salesforce Objects?
By default, all Magentrix Entities and Salesforce Objects are disabled for the Reports and Dashboards module to protect confidential records from being accessed. In addition to users having the permissions stated in the previous section, administrators must allow Reports for Magentrix Entities and Salesforce Objects at entity-level configurations before they can be used in Reports and Dashboards.
For help with Entity configuration for Reports and Dashboards, see Allowing Reports and Dashboards for Entities.
