Common Issues and Solutions

Profile Visibility Problems: If users cannot be found in the People Directory, verify that their Social Profile privacy settings are configured as Public rather than Private. Private profiles do not appear in the directory or search results.

Notification Issues: If users are not receiving expected notifications, verify that Social Collaboration email notifications are enabled at both the portal level (Company Preferences > Collaboration > Allow Emails) and individual user preference levels.

Following Functionality Problems: If following features are not available, ensure that Social Collaboration is enabled for the user's Security Role in the Additional Settings tab under Social Collaboration permissions.

Activity Feed Missing: If activity feeds are not displaying, verify that Social Collaboration is enabled at the portal level and that the user's Security Role has appropriate permissions for Social Collaboration module access.

Comment Visibility Issues: If comments are not visible to expected users, review comment visibility settings (Owner, Internal users, Everyone with access) and verify that underlying folder sharing permissions support the intended audience access.

Performance Optimization

Activity Feed Performance: For organizations with high collaboration activity, consider user training on strategic following to optimize activity feed relevance and reduce information overload that can impact user productivity.

Content Organization: Encourage users to organize starred content and manage following relationships regularly to maintain efficient personal knowledge management and avoid system performance impacts.

Storage Management: Monitor user file uploads through Social Profiles and provide guidance on appropriate content sharing and storage utilization to optimize system performance and storage allocation.
