Customizing Resource Collection Labels
Administrators can customize the labels used for the Resource Collections module to better align with organizational terminology and branding preferences.
Requirements
To customize Resource Collection labels, users must be assigned a security role with the following permissions:
- Administrator System Role
Customizing the Module Label
- On the Setup Home page, navigate to Create > Resource Collections.
- Click Resource Collection Settings.
- In the Label field, enter a custom singular label for the module (e.g., "Resource Library", "Content Hub", "Sales Enablement").
- In the Plural Label field, enter a custom plural label for the module (e.g., "Resource Libraries", "Content Hubs", "Sales Enablement").
- Click Save.
The custom labels will immediately appear throughout the platform wherever the Resource Collections module is referenced, including navigation menus, page titles, and user-facing content.
Note: Custom labels support translation selection for multi-language portals. Select the appropriate translation option when configuring labels to ensure consistent terminology across all supported languages.
Best Practices and Recommendations
Choose intuitive labels that clearly communicate the module's purpose to your users. Consider terminology already familiar to your sales teams, partners, or community members.
Maintain consistency between singular and plural forms to avoid confusion in different contexts throughout the platform.
Consider your audience when selecting labels. Partner portals might use "Partner Resources" while customer portals might prefer "Knowledge Library" or "Learning Center".
Test label changes with a small group of users before deploying broadly to ensure the new terminology resonates with your audience and doesn't cause confusion.
