Managing the Ideas Module

Manage the Ideas module to update an idea post's review status and process abuse reports. The Ideas module provides comprehensive administrative tools for evaluating submitted ideas, communicating implementation decisions to the community, and maintaining content quality through moderation capabilities. Administrators and users with appropriate permissions can guide ideas through structured review workflows while ensuring community standards are maintained.

Note: Employee Users can only edit and change their review status if editing within the time limit. Administrators and users with appropriate role-based permissions can change review statuses past the time limit and access comprehensive idea management capabilities.

Requirements

Review Status Management Requirements

To change idea post review statuses, users must be assigned a security role with the following permissions:

  • Administrator System Role, OR
  • Employee User with the following entity permissions:
    • All Entities, Idea: Read
    • All Entities, Idea: Create
    • All Entities, Idea: Edit

Abuse Report Processing Requirements

To process abuse reports, users must be assigned a security role with the following:

  • Administrator System Role

Review Status Workflow: Structured progression from initial submission through implementation tracking with clear communication to community members about evaluation outcomes.

Content Moderation: Comprehensive abuse reporting and resolution system that maintains community standards while preserving constructive discussion and feedback.

Time-Based Permissions: Flexible editing permissions that allow idea authors to make modifications within configured time windows while providing administrative override capabilities for ongoing management.

Review Status Communication System

The review status system provides transparent communication about idea evaluation and implementation progress, helping community members understand administrative decisions and implementation timelines.

Status Visibility: Review statuses are visible to community members viewing idea posts, providing transparency about evaluation progress and administrative decisions.

Progress Tracking: Status updates enable community members to track their submitted ideas through evaluation and implementation processes.

Implementation Communication: Status changes communicate organizational decisions and implementation commitments to community members and stakeholders.

Editing Ideas and Updating Review Status

Accessing Idea Management

  1. In the Ideas Tab, select the idea you want to update or manage
  2. Click Edit to access the idea management interface
  3. Review the current idea information and status settings

Making Idea Content Changes

Content Modifications:

  1. If you need to make changes to the idea post content, make edits in the rich text editor
  2. Modify the title, description, or category assignment as needed
  3. Ensure changes maintain the intent and clarity of the original suggestion

Time-Limited Editing:

  • Employee users can edit ideas within the configured editing time window
  • After the editing period expires, only administrators and users with appropriate role permissions can modify idea content
  • Administrative permissions provide override capabilities for ongoing idea management and clarification

Review Status Management

In the Review Status dropdown list, select the appropriate status to communicate evaluation progress and implementation decisions:

Not Reviewed:

  • The idea post has not yet been evaluated by administrators
  • Default status for newly submitted ideas
  • Indicates the idea is in the initial submission queue awaiting administrative attention

Under Consideration:

  • The idea post has been reviewed and is being actively evaluated
  • Administrative team is assessing feasibility, impact, and implementation requirements
  • No final decision has been made about delivery timeline or implementation commitment

Not Planned:

  • The idea post has been thoroughly reviewed and evaluated
  • Administrative decision indicates the idea will not be implemented based on current organizational priorities, resources, or strategic alignment
  • Provides clear communication to community members about implementation decisions

Planned for Delivery:

  • The idea post has been approved for implementation and development
  • Indicates organizational commitment to implement the suggestion according to established roadmaps and timelines
  • Communicates positive evaluation outcome and implementation intention

Delivered:

  • The idea post has been successfully implemented and deployed
  • Represents completed enhancement or feature development based on the community suggestion
  • Provides closure and recognition for successful community contributions

Finalizing Status Changes

  1. After selecting the appropriate review status, click Save to apply the changes
  2. Status updates are immediately visible to community members viewing the idea
  3. Status changes may trigger notification workflows to idea authors and community members based on module configuration

Processing Abuse Reports

Understanding Abuse Report Workflow

The Ideas module includes comprehensive content moderation capabilities that enable administrators to review reported content and take appropriate actions to maintain community standards and professional discourse.

Community-Driven Moderation: Community members can report inappropriate ideas or comments for administrative review, ensuring collaborative content quality management.

Administrative Review Process: Reported content undergoes systematic administrative evaluation to determine appropriate responses and moderation actions.

Resolution Tracking: Abuse reports maintain status tracking through resolution processes, providing administrative oversight of moderation activities.

Accessing Abuse Report Management

  1. In the Setup Home page, click Manage > Community Settings
  2. Click Idea Exchange Settings
  3. Select the Moderation tab to access abuse report management interface

Reviewing Reported Content

Abuse Report Information:

  • Review the abuse report details including the nature of the complaint and reporting user information
  • Examine the context and circumstances surrounding the reported content
  • Assess the reported content against community standards and organizational policies

Content Evaluation:

  1. For comprehensive evaluation, click View Post to examine the original idea post or comment in context
  2. Review the complete content including related comments and community discussions
  3. Consider the impact on community standards and user experience

Abuse Report Resolution Actions

Marking Reports as Resolved:

  1. If the reported content meets community standards and does not violate policies, click Mark as Resolved
  2. Resolved reports indicate that administrative review determined the content is appropriate and should remain in the Ideas module
  3. Resolution maintains the content's availability to community members while documenting the moderation review

Archiving Inappropriate Content:

  1. If the reported content violates community standards or organizational policies, click Mark as Archived
  2. Archived content is removed from public view in the Ideas module while maintaining administrative records
  3. Archiving provides appropriate response to policy violations while preserving moderation audit trails

Abuse Report Status Management

Report Status Views:

  1. To review previously resolved or archived reports, click the View: Reported Posts dropdown
  2. Select View: Resolved Posts to examine reports that were determined to meet community standards
  3. Select View: Archived Posts to review reports that resulted in content removal

Administrative Oversight:

  • Maintain records of moderation decisions and patterns for ongoing community management
  • Monitor report trends to identify potential policy clarifications or community education opportunities
