Using the Community Forum

 

Users can post questions, reply to questions, and mark replies as answers in the Community Forum.

Requirements

To use the Community Forum, users must be assigned a security role with the following permissions:

  • All Entities, Community: Read, Create, and Edit
  • All Entities, Forum Post: Read and Create
  • Tab Settings, Communities: On
  • App Settings: App with the Communities Tab must be Visible

To post a question:

  1. In the Communities Tab, go to the Topic in which you want to ask a question.
  2. Click Ask a Question.
  3. In the Subject field, enter a subject title for the post.
  4. In the editor, enter any information relevant to your question. You can include text, images, or other media.
  5. If you want to be notified by email when another portal user replies to your question, check Notification Alerts.
  6. Click Submit.

To reply to posts:

  1. In the Communities Tab, go to the Community Forum post to which you want to reply.
  2. Click Reply.
  3. In the editor, enter a reply to the question. You can include text, images, or other media.
  4. Click Submit.

To mark replies as answers:

  1. In the Communities Tab, go to the Community Forum post containing the reply.
  2. Hover over the reply you want to mark as the answer, and then click Mark as Answer.
