Following Document Library Folders

 

Users can follow document folders to receive email notifications whenever someone uploads, downloads, previews, deletes or posts a document record within the folder. Notification settings and frequency can be customized.

Requirements:

To follow document library folders, users must be assigned a security role with the following permissions:

  • All Entities, Folder (system): Read
  • All Entities, Folder (system): Follow Folder Enabled
  • Tab Settings, Documents: On
  • App Settings: App with the Documents Tab must be Visible
  • Social Collaboration must be enabled on the portal

To follow Document Library folders:

  1. In the Documents Tab, navigate to the folder for which you want to follow.
  2. Click Follow.
  3. In the popup window, select the options for when you will receive email notifications.
  4. Select the notification frequency.
  5. Click Update.
