Creating Link Tabs

 

Administrators can create Link Tabs that access custom URLs. These custom URLs can include Merge Fields to dynamically direct users to internal portal pages.

Requirements

To create Link Tabs, users must be assigned a security role with the following permissions:

  • Administrator System Role

To create link tabs

  1. In the Setup Home Page, click Create > Tabs.
  2. Click New.
  3. Select Link Tab and then click Next.
  4. Complete the following fields:
    • Label: Enter a name for the Web Tab.
    • Unique Name: Automatically populated from the Label field. You may change the value if desired.
    • Tab Link: Enter the custom URL you would like the Tab to access. The URL can include Merge Fields to allow customized access to URL page contents.
    • Tab Style: Select a visual style for the Tab.
    • Tool Tip and Description: Enter optional descriptions to the Tab.
    • Mobile Ready?: If you want users to access this Tab when viewing the portal in Mobile Mode, check this option.
  5. Click Next.
  6. If you want to immediately configure the Tab for security roles, change the value in the Tab Visibility field for each security role. This step can be skipped and configured later.
  7. Click Next.
  8. If you want to immediately add the Tab to Apps, check the Apps in which you want to include this Tab.
  9. Click Save.
