Organization Settings: Members Tab
The Members tab controls how people join your portal and what they must agree to. Go to Setup > Manage > Organization Settings and open the Members tab.
Application Self-Registration Settings
Self-registration lets unauthenticated visitors sign up and become members.
| Field | Notes |
|---|
| Allow Self-Registration | The master switch. The next five fields appear only when it is on. |
| Default Role | The role assigned to users who self-register. Required for sign-up to work. |
| Bucket Account ID | The CRM Account new Contacts are attached to, since self-registration may create a Contact record. Required for sign-up to work. |
| Reuse Contacts by Email | Checks existing CRM contacts by email so registration does not create duplicates. |
| Enable Captcha | Adds word verification to the built-in registration form. |
| Custom Sign Up Page | A custom page for a tailored registration experience. |
| Custom Login Page | A custom login page. Always available, independent of the self-registration switch. |
Default Role and Bucket Account ID are both required. Enabling self-registration without them leaves sign-up broken, and the interface states this directly.
Custom sign-up and login pages must be shared with the Guest role, otherwise unauthenticated visitors cannot reach them. When building a custom login page, follow the platform's security guidance for login pages.
Site Terms and Conditions
Whether new community users must accept your terms at sign-up, and which pages are used.
| Field | Notes |
|---|
| User must accept Terms & Conditions | Prompts new community users to agree at sign-up time. |
| Terms & Conditions | Choose the built-in page, a custom Active Page, or a link to an external page. |
| Privacy | The same three choices for your privacy page. |
The page or URL field shown depends on the option you pick - a custom page selector for an Active Page, or an address field for an external link. Nothing extra appears if you use the built-in pages.
